2473 Squadron provide cadets with every available experience the RAFAC has to offer.
There is a range of activities available for every cadet from skiing in the German mountains in Oberjoch to flying in Chinooks there is almost anything out there for someone to enjoy! However, there may be certain age and experience restrictions for some activities for example you must be an NCO to attend the Cadet Drill Course.
With a such a wide range of activities available throughout the year, there is something for everyone.
Popular activities include: flying, gliding, shooting, canoeing, skiing, walking and of course DofE.
These are only a small fraction of the activities on offer, for more information about the activities on offer and the squadron, click here.
The Air Cadet experience is open to everyone whatever your background may be. To join you must be between the ages of 12 to 17 or the beginning of the year 8 school year. We will be recruiting again on May 13th and September 9th. Please do send us an email or text to find out more.
At first, if you decide to stay, you will be put into a training flight with other new cadets. This doesn’t mean you will miss out with any of the activities, but in fact you will receive extra attention from more senior cadets that will help you through the start of your cadet career.
There are also plenty of opportunities to get involved as an adult, we are always looking for new people to help meet the challenges of today and make plans for the future. Helping run the activities that play such an important role in what we do. Any help is appreciated. To do this visit the RAFAC website to find out more on how to join up or speak to our CO – CI Rodney Dick.
